You're quite right Ian, but when 'law and order' fails to be an effective deterrent to anti social/criminal behavior what then ?

Here in Victoria a **** wit judge/magistrate has just declared open season on emergency service workers by letting off a pair of druggies who beat the **** out of an ambo because they were mothers and he was sorry for them.

FFS!! We live in a society where everything is now 'someone else's fault' and taking responsibility for ones actions is a thing of the past. If you can convince a muppet judge/magistrate that you're a poor druggy, stolen generation, not breast fed, gay or some other bull **** excuse you're home free.

A downside of this is that people then lose respect for the law and confidence in the judiciary and actions similar to this are the inevitable result.

I'm not saying that this is exactly what has happened here, but as a society 'we reap what we sow'.

    Interesting you should say.
In Melbourne, we already have vigilante groups targeting African youths. When they catch up with said youth in some isolated spot, they give the African youth a hell of a hiding. The sad thing, the vigilantes don't care if that African youth was a problem or not.

    As you say:

You blokes need to get a ladder and climb down, Iam talking mates egging each other cars, old bombs, registered paddock bashers, we used to have a hoot and as I said paid for any damage we caused. We were country kids that didn't have all the bright light city kids had but made our own fun.used to also fight with wooden sword and beat the **** out of each other and ride bikes together the next day so don't get all bloody high and mighty
    cheers

I like my police. I am more than big enough to extract physical restraint or retaliations on offenders, I would, if needed to defend myself of family from offensive actions, Using my size or physical abilities to attack some twit for a property offense would be assault. ROAD RAGE is very un cool in my view

Context... your context implied it was ok to be doing...

Big difference in a paddock with old bangers.. but that is NOT what you implied.

And don’t go playing the “big city lights” bull****... or the paying for damage caused card. Causing the damage is the *exact* problem.

I have nice things because I look after them, and I show the same respect to others property (as I always have). Not acting like a fool, causing damage (or do something with potential to) and then offer to compensate.

Plenty of places to cut loose without causing potential harm.. these little ferals need reigning in...

I think there might be a bit of egging on happening here.
    Cheers, Billy.

This isn't on at all. There is absolutley no reason to EVER point a firearm at anyone ( unless of course your life is being threatened). Sure give them a good old fashioned hiding if it makes you feel better ..... But pulling a firearm ? You would have to be insane!

I suspect the young lads may have embellished their story. I wouldn't be surprised if said firearm didn't exist.
