    VMS mapping on iPad

Wanted to ask of peoples experience with iPad mapping software. I bought the VMS for iPad yesterday. I knew that I had to download topo maps for the area that I wanted, but I would have thought there were functions like -‘southeast queensland’, ‘northern rivers NSW’.
It does have the ability to download maps contained on the current screen. But requires multiple downloads.
Was I naive? Do other mapping softwares like hema have such a function? I assume It will become easier to use the more I play, but wondered if it was worth getting it refunded earlier if hema or even mud maps were easier to operate/had more functionality. While I haven’t been out 4x4ing with it, the 3D maps do look like they would be handy.
    Thoughts? Thanks in advance. Josh.
    .............
    Cheers, Josh

Mate..... since u have a apple device (not available on Android apparently), have a look at an App called "Pocket Earth". It's FREE and I've found it very easy to use. The maps are fairly good as well but I've paid the $15.00 to obtain better Topo Maps. I've used it a number of times and very Happy with it to date.... I just wish I had found it before I spent a $100 on the OZTopo App which I now feel I have wasted my money on when I compare it to the usability of PocketEarth App. I'm still learning on how to use it but as I mentioned b4 I'm very happy so far.... Plus no on-going yearly fees either

btw: If I remember correctly, u can just download state maps if u prefer.......
