Number 2 son was as high as a kite last night LOL.

We picked up number 2 son from the Royal Melb Dental hospital in the city last night he had 4 impacted wisdom teeth done under a general anesthetic. He is normally very quiet but couldn't shut him up in the car all the way home and all last night at home. The morphine and other drug working. I bet he will be very quiet this morning as his face will be swollen and when the pain killers wear off the broken bone will start to hurt big time I reckon. At least when he gets over this he will bwe pain free from those blasted wisdom teeth. I had mine done when I was 19. they were also impacted and growing side ways.

Teeth what to say. My Wife has suffered over the years due to genetics and very poor Dentist in her early years. I reckon I paid for two Mercedes for her specialist Dentists what with implants gum treatment bridges etc etc. Hope your Son has no further issues.

Had mine done about a week before going to Mexico. Initial results were the same as your son . But a day into the trip ever increasing pain and infection. Got prescription anti biotics and some wonderful pain killers. Couple days on the beach chair staring at the sea and scenery without a care. Didn’t dare take those pills back home !

It seems like everyone is getting their wisdom teeth out right now. I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth taken out last Thursday, a couple of guys at work have had it done recently too.

After years of being problem free one of them started playing up and I decided I might as well get them all done if I was going to get one done. I had it done under local antithetic with a bit of oral sedation thrown in so I was quite relaxed throughout and all's good now after 5 days. Still a bit of welling left but my beard hides it well

I hope your son recovered quickly!

I had one impacted one in about 1979 which had to be cut out under general anaesthetic . After 2 days of not shaving and face swollen, they wouldn't give my daughter to me at her kindergarten.Regards Philip A

Had mine out, all four under a general anaesthetic, when I was about thirty, best thing I ever did.
All the head aches and face aches they used to cause and knowing the relief that came after having
them extracted, I wished I had got them out earlier. If they are impacted or growing sideways the
likelihood of them ever improving is minimal.

    Cheers, Mick.

    Hi,
Aren't we lucky to live in the age of modern dentistry and anasthesia?
    Cheers

I worked with a little greek guy, little Johnny we called him for obvious reasons. Little Johnny had a lot of teeth missing, when he had a tooth ache he was old school and did his own dentistry with long nose . pliers. It use to make my eyes water.

Thankfully my employer made me (and probably more than 100 others) have all four out when I was 17yo under general in a private hospital. I believe they had a few rooms and theatre booked all year

A distant memory, and as my mum said at the time, somebody else is paying, all four at once and General is the way to go.

I had the misfortune of having had 7 bloody wisdom teeth!

I definitely looked like I had been in a major car crash when I got them out about 20years ago.
