    Dodgy real estate adverts

We saw an advert on a major real estate website for a nice tidy little house with lots of pictures for the listing and liked what We saw so we arranged for a viewing with the real estate people.
What we saw was Nothing like what was advertised, There were 7 car wreaks in the yard along with a plethora of other rubbish and inside the house it was strewn with dirty clothes and assorted junk and the walls, floors and ceilings were absolutely Filthy the entire house stank to high heaven.
The place was absolutely Disgusting and the sad thing is that there was a family of 5 living there.
I will NEVER use that particular real estate Mob ever again as a result of what we saw as opposed to what they had in their listing description and images.

Sounds like what they did with my house up in Albury. They used the pics I took before it was rented as sales pics. In the time it had been rented out a half a dozen times over the span of about ten years, things changed, and basically it was not the same place.

So, from the one you’ve just looked at, obviously they have totally trashed the joint. I feel sorry for the owners if it was rented. If the people who were in there left it like that, but bought it,, they’ll have a hard time selling.

I have my unit listed for rent . It is a mess , nothing like the pictures. But I know once out the bond cleaners will be in to get it back to its best. Feedback from the agent is the mess hasn’t scared anyone yet

I was told that the owner is in Queensland and he is renting it to the current occupiers that have obviously trashed the place over the 2.5 years that they have been renting it.
I don't envy the owner who I imagine has NO idea of how bad the place is now poor bugger.
Personally I consider the house to be a health hazard and I wouldn't even house my dog in there.

The real estate bloke offered to show me another house across the road that looked to be in much better condition, At least the yard wasn't covered in junked cars and rubbish and I MAY have a look at it this Sunday But it is over an hour away and after having wasted a day yesterday I am not that keen on repeating that.
We are in the final stages of preparing and loading up the trucks, van and boat for our Big Lap and we hope to be on the road Monday so I am not that keen on mucking about buying a house when I could be up in the Buccaneer Archipelago fishing instead.
I think we will give it a miss for now and who knows we may find something else in our travels where we can set up house for our retirement.

Trout, it's known as an "advertiser"......the idea is to cave your arse in on that one and then they start to show you others just a little pricier ........

When we where looking at houses before settling for this one we had seen some dodgy ones. Creative use of camera angles. House looked like it had a reasonable length drive. Turned out to be only a car length or so long. There was for good reason not many inside pic`s. Bathroom was about the size of a bath and that was it. It was a lean to added to the end of the veranda. Or the one that looked great, but only pics of the front. Turned out the block had been sliced in half. So there was about the legal space behind the house to the fence. There where a few like that. One in Packenham where the house was in the middle of units. Why the heck they did not just bulldoze that house and have all units.

That tactic didn't work on me, I walked and took my money with me.
