All else fails if dog in your yard ring PC Plod and tell them you have been attacked. Dont need bite marks to prove attack. They will push ranger to act.
If in VIC insist on dog be classed as Dangerous Dog. As defined by law then PC Plot can act/ destroy it much more easily.

My experience in Vic is different to this. 18 months ago when out walking a loose bull terrier dog attacked my 'on the lead' little Cav Spaniel - Henry. I picked Henry up to get him out of the way and held him on my shoulder. The bull terrier then repeatedly jumped at him using me as a launching ramp and got 6 bites in on Henrys lower half until with my spare hand I eventually managed to grab the bullies collar under his throat and hold him off.

The owner came up to get her dog and refused to identify herself. I rang the cops. No bites to me so they were not interested. I then rang the shire ranger and was informed that it is a 3 stage warning process before a dangerous dog classification is issued against the aggressive dog.

The owner lives on a 5 acre block has 2 horses,no feed, lots of old cars scattered around . people living in an old container and more in a caravan, kids on quad bikes roaring around etc etc . The neighbour in the middle also on 5 acres has complained but got short shrift. He had rescued a wallaby that got hit by a car and these dogs jumped into the enclosure and ripped its face off. He got me to shoot it.(The Wallaby).
His wife is a teacher and its a small town. Its best for me if I dont complain to anyone and the dogs just disappear. I dont like baiting and its a humane trap.
Thanks for all the ideas, I think cat food might be next on the menu, but they are well fed scavenging road kill.

Their block seems to attract undesirables. the main building is a tin shed and 15 yrs ago just after we moved here there was a druggie in there who threatened to gut and eat my horses. He used to sneak around here at night so I had to put security lighting in etc.
Anyway he must have ****ed someone else off and was found one sunday morning lying on the road with his hands crossed over his chest and what was alleged as a bullet hole in his head. He had also been run over.
Coppers looked at my tires but no mention of guns. They left him lying on the road from 7.30 untill after midday untill the meat wagon got here from brisbane.
We all heaved a sigh of relief and alls been good till now.
Their has been no inquest or coroners report that I can find. Strange.

Similar things happened out here, apparently.

Many moons ago i lived on a rural property that had about 30 sheep on it .

We had 2 dog`s from a adjoining property that would come over and attack the sheep some with their nose`s ripped off.
I approached the said owner and got a rude response with a **** off attitude :bat:

I rang the copper in a town 30 k`s away and was informed i could legally shoot said dog`s if i caught them on my property .

Guess what happened to those dog`s:rocket:

They were never a problem again on this earth :2up:

Can’t help with a Doberman, but if you ever need to catch a Pug that’s terrorising you, a smear of peanut butter or half an undrunk latte will bag one in seconds...

That's priceless Homestar. It applies equally to a Jack Russel. Interestingly my Male GSD adores raw carrots. It's the sugar I suppose. He will do some good tricks for it. Cheers

Put a 2l empty plastic cool drink bottle over the barrel of your.22 to keep the noise down and shoot the bastard of a thing then bury it.
If the owner asks if you have seen the dog say "not lately":)
