If you look carefully, you will note the article is from March 2018. This was shortly after the information about battery degradation became available. Things were a bit puzzling as the 30kWh-pack is using more or less the same cells than the pack with 24kWh, just more of them. A few weeks ago Nissan issued a statement, blaming the degradation on faulty software, miscalculating the actual range. You can read more about it here:

Although a major inconvenience, the degradation is much less than anticipated. Nissan owners will get a software update fixing the bug when service is due. As a Tesla owner I get my updates over the air...
