I thought the weetbix factory was at Buranda, Wooloongabba area, in or just off Wellington Rd. I can remember the distinctive smell. Maybe that was Vita Brits.
    It was Vita Brits.
I went to East Brisbane State School directly across the road.
Sometimes used to drive us nuts when the wind blew our direction.
The ETA peanut butter factory was up the other end of Wellington Rd and that smell was delicious when you walked past.
Even Kinnears ropes around the corner on Lytton Rd smelled nice with the manilla smell.

    Regards Philip A

Vita Brits was on Wellington Rd. between Stanley St. and Logan Rd. Palm Chutney was across Wello Rd. from the school. It smelt nice too.

Boonies? Moorvale/Moorooka was in the city!

I lived in the sticks at Calamvale (Beaudesert Rd) (my grandfather's house was no 70 in this image Google Maps - it was all paddocks around there and I used to drive my car round there) and I went to Salisbury State High School (no longer exists, I believe).

We then moved to Inala but I stayed at Salisbury as the high school at Inala didn't cover my year - it added a year as students moved up but I was always one year above).

Calamvale is still so far out that you need a passport to get there, it also helps if you can speak Mandarin.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

Calamvale!! I had never heard of Calamvale until Frank Arthur built the one mile dirt track there. I had to look it up on a Lands Dept. map to find out where we were supposed to go racing. Is there anything out there other than rocks and trees we asked.

Correction to my earlier post. I was thinking of R.M.Gow who moved their factory and warehouse from Roma St to Ipswich Rd. Moorooka and were one block from the tramline. Sanitarium were on the tramline where it turned left off Ipswich Rd. to go up Beaudesert Rd.

Hmm, I wonder where it was. It opened the year after we returned to Sydney.
