    Discovery tow bars recall

Hello to all i was just reading the British Land Rover Monthly for MAY 2018 and came across an article regarding Discovery 3/4 and Range Rover Sport Cassette type tow hitches there seems to be an issue with the tow hitches resulting in a recall for inspection and possible replacement. I am not sure if the article can be shown without legal permission i will leave that to the moderators i have attached the article in full to this post , if it is not allowed it is on page 178 of May 2018 Land Rover Monthly.
I would be interested to know if it has been addressed in Australia and if so what is the outcome.

Yeah, but we have a fair bit of salty sand and water 'round the edges. Some reckon that's the best bit to drive on.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

We tend to wash it off though

It is good practice to remove the mount when not in use to prevent this wear - it’s not intended to just sit there unused.

Not only check the coupling. This was my 'tilleys towbar from several years ago. I was replacing the strapping on the under tray water tank and bumped the bar with a screw driver. A heap of crap came off from under the paint and this was what I found

Speaking with and showing the pics to a bar manufacturers agent, I was asked to present it for inspection and general consensus was that there was a significant chance that there was a fair bit of moisture in the section when it was sealed.
I felt a bit clammy/lucky when I found the damage as, only the week before, I'd towed a mates 19' half cab, fully laden, glass boat from Hervey Bay to Tannum Sands and back for a fishing comp!

Since this, I check all bars and hitches on all vehicles regularly even though the damage in the pics came from inside out.
