Is this real ? or just a wind-up?

Been known for a while.
The Commodore is made by Opal which was sold to the PSA group last year (along with Vauxhall) - PSA is basically run by Peugeot but includes Citroen.
The TDV6 engines in our landies are PSA engines - developed in conjunction with Ford and built by Ford in the UK.
So yes - the new Commodore has no basic current connection with GM but was certainly designed when controlled by GM and is now a Peugeot.

Yeah, it's an Opal dog and sales are in the toilet as everyone knew they would be apart from Holden themselves for some reason. It's like they are deliberately trying to go broke...

I do think they at least look good.
I used to be a one eyed Holden lover. Owned so many i could not count. If i was going to buy a car as a kid it was Holden or nothing!
Im glad Land Rover filled that void i have after Holden died.
My faith has just been restored!
Check this out! Harrop doing there thing.
Plenty has been written about the "new" Commodore, plenty of it negative, some deserved, some not.
I know plenty of people knocking it, when they haven't even driven it, in many cases, because it ain't like the VF, and also, because it hasn't got a V8 engine option.
Well, I have driven one, and I ain't saying it's the best car in the world, but IMHO it ain't as bad as many make out.
Ok, it "looks" like plenty of other current offerings, so hard to recognize on the street. The interior is good, comfortable, well finished with a "Euro" feel/look. I drove the AWD VXR version with a 3.6V6 & 8 speed auto,....very nice to drive, nice & compact, a "smaller" car to drive than the VF that we currently own.
I'm going to make sure I have a drive of the 2L turbo Calais with I think its 9 speed auto, which I've heard is the pick of the bunch.
Pickles.
Agreed most wouldn't have driven one, there aren't many out there to drive...
I have, and yes it drove fine and in a lot of respects better than the previous model but that's not why I hate it. I hate it because Holden are ****wits and managed the company so poorly that it now basically doesn't exist. I hate it for everything Holden stands for now after being a loyal buyer for decades and an owner of 5 different dunny doors in the past. I also hate how it looks - it's bloody aweful. So, in a nutshell I hate Holden now and everything they make regardless of how good or not it may be. I'm clearly not the only one as the population have turned their back on Holden in a big way. I hope they rot in hell and go broke soon.

You guys sound like me .... and the way I talk about Poogoe .... and how they destroyed Citroen after they took it over.
The time is ripe to get yourself a big V8 RWD dinosaur while you still can.
The real reason all of the Aussie manufactures failed .... Isn't that the cars made weren't great (the last of the falcons and commadores were bloody phenomenal cars given the limited numbers of them manufactured).... What killed them, was they were building cars no-one wanted. The europeans were doing the same **** and going out backwards. Every "fashion wannabe" NEEDED a 4wd.... just look at the schools with all the the mums lining up in there 3ton **** tanks... If you couldn't afford the 3ton **** tank, at least make it look like a pretend **** tank.... even 2wd if fine, so long as your "unique" and look just like everyone else.
The sad bit is we are now all pretty muched forced into a pretend **** tank as there isn't really a family wagon made any longer. And all the sedans, though big on the outside and bloody squishy and small inside. Compare to the last of the falcon wagons to the current offerings.... There crap. Even in wagon form they are tiny inside. So basically now anyone with a few kids "needs" a **** tank as that is the only thing with space inside
