    Bloody injection pump

Venting my frustrations guys, I spent 2k overhauling the pump on our TDI 14mths ago only to have it start leaking again .

M.R Autos give you 12 months warranty ( my luck )

Although Harry from M.R says he will look after me on the price but still more bloody $$$.

Some days I wonder why I like Land Rovers

    Hi Noz,

Thats a bit of bad luck.

How many Kms before the first rebuild and how many since?

just wondering what to keep an eye out for and how many dollars to save up.

I hate to mention this - my fuel pump is untouched since new - 410,000km and twenty years. (Isuzu - actually Nippon-Denso)

    NOZ,
Trust me its all cars that will give you grief after they are 5 years old. I also have a SR Falcon AU which is a great car that’s while I still have it but I had an ABS problem and was charged by Ford $450.00 fault finding for an $80.00 part. Total of $530.00 to fix a little ABS computer wheel that apparently tracks what the wheel is doing.
This is after putting the car in to another trusted mechanic he had the car for a day and could not find the source the problem and said you had better take it to Ford.

Don’t give you Landy a hard time its not its fault.

    Hi Mark
Has QLD just changed to low sulphur diesel in the past 6 months????
When it was introduced to WA 5 years or so ago it caused problems with certain types of rubber seals in injector pumps.
You may be lucky,it maybe just a seal replacement.

Almost know how you feel, just got back from trip away without 130 - in the shop for new injector pump - under $2k but that isn't putting it in.

When the old one died it was ****ing diesel out of the top. Mechanic said $30 seal would have fixed the leak but the rest of the pump was gone.

Hope yours is just the seal.

    Cheers
    Simon
