Land Rovers in British TV ???

It appears that the population of Midsomer Worthy is not the only shrinkage on British (Cop-Show) TV, - has anyone else noticed the brand of the majority 'Police' SUVs ?
Previously D1 and D2s, with the odd Range Rover with Blue Lights,, but now the latest shows have Blue & Yellow checked Mitsubishis.
Seems the last patriot is Vera, with her banged up Land Rover. But they do things different-like, 'oop in N'thumbria.

"Alistair" from the British comedy "As Time Goes By" drove a Classic RR but partway through the series the Classic was replaced by a P38. The producers did a great job in that they frequently captured the wonderful exhaust note of the V8 engines under load.

The old Range Rover with Blue Lights, I think were called the "Jam Sandwich" due to the colour scheme of red waist on white background, i.e. top and bottom.

All the Police cars with this paint scheme were known as a 'Jam Sandwich'. Rover 3.5's, Ford Capri's, Jags etc.

The crazy farmer in The Detectorists drives a Defender, it's his fault I've just traded my perfectly fine Navara of the last 9 years in for a Discovery 4! Saw his Defender on the show and suddenly adored them, just couldn't get it passed the Mrs. so a Discovery 4 was the compromise

Never actually seen her drive it though. Can imagin it would be challenging in high heals and she doesnt seem to have the upper body strength to steer the thing. Does look nice (the series 3) :-)
