Are you a union member? If so, get them involved. Most come down like a ton of bricks on employers who mistreat injured workers. If not a unionist then you have just leaned a hard lesson.

Some can, you can't get sacked where I work for love nor money because Management is **** scared of the Unions and what they can do to our bottom line.

The AWU covered most unskilled and semi-skilled workers in rural Queensland and they did bother so did the AEU. Not just in small towns but remote mines, camps, shearing sheds.

Maybe....but first he has to be in a union and secondly have a decent rep......

You don’t see many of these cases make the news....

The unions direct most of the energy at the top end of town especially areas that have big impact to society or the government making the from page of news papers and is the lead story on tv news.

Like today, the threats of union action at the money printing facility....yep this may affect the general population.

I’ve never been a member of a union.....and after all the dealing I’ve had with them I certainly think they have lost their focus.

A recent experience....the union cost our workforce 0.5% in annual pay rises, all through stalling and giving bad advice to the workforce. After the second or third NO vote the annual pay rise was dropped by 0.5% and the presented the document to fair work....breeze through the approvals. I believe the majority of member pulled the pin on their union membership.

That’s unions working for the members.......

Couldn't put it better my self, they lost focus after the eureka stockade if you ask me. Nothing but a bunch of ex bikie criminals running the show these days. And if your not one of them, according to them your against them. I've been on a job where the union rep shut the job down till I joined then or left, I left.
Done nothing but ruin the building industry the little guys have got no hope anymore.
Really in this day an age we shouldn't need them but the members are greedy and are more worried about their RDO's than the jobs they are employed to do.
I didn't wanna join in the union conversation but I have now doh!

    Cheers Jim
