Bilstein heavy-duty shocks (I'll look the p/n up later)
Heavy-duty King springs with a slight lift. The car is 50mm higher all round due to the lift and the fact the coils are stiffer.

Of the four hours two were spent on the first front one! Realised we didn't need to unbolt the cone-shaped shock mount, messing around with the jacks. And discovering just how fantastic ratchet spanners can be. The back is a lot simpler but needs the axle dropped down a fair way because there are guidance flanges on the top coil mount.

Quite dissapointed in Bilstein's "instructions", they should have been a lot clearer about which washer goes where. But we figured it out.

The front coils are handed but the rears were not.

Replaced the standard LR suspension which after exactly two years and 73,000km was worn. The shocks could be compressed by hand by the new ones could not.

Offroad today to see how it goes.

robert, you can do that to new LR shocks, they arnt gas shocks.
you cant compress the billy's cos they are high pressure nitrogen.
do you like the LC100 look??? ide be putting some spacers under the
front springs to get her level.

right. rangie spares springs orange frnt and purple rear.
orange. 440mm free 15mm wire 148mm od and 180lb
purple. 445mm free 16mm wire 153mm od and 220lb.
es9000 frnt and rear.
frnt. 926560 655ext 390comp 265mm stroke
rear. 926573 670ext 415comp 225mm stroke.

std height guard the wheel cntr. 600mm frnt 610mm rear.
and 90mm bumpstop height allround

now guard height is 670mm all round and BS height is 150mm rear
and 140mm frnt.

might as well give you std springs and shocks.
frnt RNB103710 (LR #) 550ext 330comp 220stroke
rear RPD102390 530ext 340comp 190stroke.

the rear is almost spot on, just need 20mm taller bumpstop.
and the front i need the raise the towers by 50mm.
the thing i found out with the 90 is i dont have to extend the brake or
abs lines. at full (forced) articulation the lines still have slack in them.
i cant say that for the chassis bushes. their next to mod!

i got them from shane, 4wdstuff from outerlimits.
i tell him the size i want and he tells me my options.
havent found a retailer that will do the research for me, all they say is
dont have that length for a disco/defender!

I like the "LC100 look" with the back higher than the front. Once I get the usual weight into it -- spade/axe carrier, recovery gear, tirfor, tools then it'll level out a touch and I want it level if not slightly higher when we're in full-scale longrange camping mode because at that point there is LOT of weight to be carried. That means it needs to ride higher when unloaded, which is how it was when it was pictured.

Sorry I didn't check which of those are front or rear.

Tested it well and truly today and got to say it's an improvement on any surface. Very pleased.
