Try a ford dealer ?
I’m current in Rockhampton using a work BT50......
Been driving through the long grass song a pipeline all week and picked up a large stick, it ripped the outer CV boot off....
Rang Mazda and said no boots or complete CV assemblies in central Queensland and they need to air freight one up from Melbourne......the car is under fleet management so I didn’t try the likes of repose/independent.....
All the carryon about how you cannot get spares for land rovers away from capital cities.....well I’m stranded for two days for a simple rubber boot.
Oh I’ve never really have a close look at IFS, how crap and exposed is it, I’m fairly certain it wouldn’t have stopped my defer.
BT 50’s are fairly common, probably more common than defers....dealers in and down the coast. Would have thought CV boot was a service item.
But don’t dare buy a landie.....no parts available

Nah....it’s a fleet car, I’ve grabbed a site hi-lux, my plan was to drive it back to Brisbane on Friday as we no longer need the service vehicle up here, if it’s not fixed by 12pm Friday than I’ll fly back to Brisbane and freight the BT back.
If it was my personal car I’m sure I could have found a solution today and kept on schedule to drive back on Friday.

You think that's bad - a few years ago my company car was a Commodore. During a service they called me and said the brake pads and rotors needed replacing. No dramas I said, it's a fleet vehicle, get a PO from them and do them.
'We don't keep the parts in stock - you'll have to come back another day and get it done'
So a very large metro Holden dealership doesn't even keep commodore disks or pads an the shelf - too expensive to keep stock they tell me.
But as you said - don't buy a land rover, you can't get parts for them...
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.
I put a fan through the radiator up at Cape York. Kowari motors at Weipa had a new radiator from LR in the next day. I think it flew to Townsville, changed planes, flew to Weipa and arrived at the workshop in that time. We then had enough time to drive from Archer River Roadhouse to Weipa to pick it up. Case of beer to them for being lifesavers!!!!!!
Cheers

This just backs up a number of stories the fellas that have worked in the mining industry have related occasionally waiting weeks and more for parts to arrive from Japan to repair a Land Cruiser.
I waited 3 months for JLR dealer (in Sydney) to fix the 10as in my defender
3 months.![]()
And trust me without a working 10as, my defender is a paper weight
