I always work on the asumption that there are crocks and sharks where you find turtles and dont enter the water unless absolutely necessary.
I have spent many years fishing in northern waters and i rarely get into water above knee level let alone swim with the buggers.
Just because you can't see them doesn't mean that they are not there.
Maybe the tourist resorts have a duty of care to warn their vistors about the danger although most boat ramps and beaches have plenty of warning signs regarding crocks
Such a true statement , I survived a croc attack , and I can tell you I never seen it and must have just about jumped in its mouth. I was spearfishing out of a tinny , and it got to within 6 feet of that tinny and still wasn't seen . they are the masters of stealth. I can see why they have survived and continued to survive and swell in numbers.
