    Tyre sizes for a Disco II

    Hi all,

    I'm in the process at looking at changing my tyres and want to find out the largest tyre I can fit to a standard Disco II without overly affecting my gearing.

    I'm looking at changing the current 235/70R16 to A/T LT245/70R16 but I'm having problems finding my preferred size from Procomp, Cooper or Mickey Thompson, only BFG seems to have this size in LT construction.

    Thanks

    255/70/16 won't change things much either, i have 245/75/16s on my DII and you do notice the difference, aspecially up long steep hills, a chip fixed that though.

    The differences are this in size;

    Standard size is 29.00 in

    Overall Diameter: 29.50 in 749.3 mm.......245/70/16

    Overall Diameter: 30.05 in 763.27 mm.....255/70/16

    Overall Diameter: 30.46 in 773.68 mm.....245/75/16
    Cheers Baz.

    i noticed gearing drop in my V8 with 265/70/16s. 7% speedo error too and boy did they fill the guards. No rubbing though.

    I've since put 2" lift on. Now thay look too small.

    My roof bars are still only 2m. Fits under 90% of them.
