Gympie to Mt Dare and back via French and Madigan, how many days did you say

    On a motor bike solo

Talking to a work colleague yesterday........6 1/2 days is the answer. Left on a Saturday and was cleaning his bike the following weekend

I was telling him about another guy in the company that rode Rockingham WA to Rockhampton QLD in 7 days crossing all the deserts and to my surprise he had just as good a story.

Yeah yeah I know he didn’t smell the roses......it was the challenge he was chasing and he loved every minute of it.

He started to tell me the gear/load he had onboard but got called away.

2 x 10L jerries strapped to his panniers and another fuel bladder at the back........

Obviously he wasn't riding a Goldwing, he'd have needed a 130 with a 1,000 litre ISO, backing him up.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

    Bonkers.

The faster we go, the less we know IMO

    Each to their own.

    I get it.

Not something I could do myself now but totally understand the pleasure of such a challenge.

It’s not about seeing the place, it’s about the drive/ride.

    Cheers,
    Jon

We did the opposite in 2014.

w-e crossing took us nearly 14 days.

we were guided by a guy who was born there.

we hope to do it again within next 2 years but without following tracks.....if the park rangers haven't taken full control of all vehicle movements.....I really hope they do.

it's a real nice place to go slow.
