    Oz Lotto - really ?

    Gday All,

so the boss buys a Oz Lotto ticket when visiting our daughter in NSW, comes home to Darwin and checks the ticket, and wins $30. Can't be paid out here because the ticket was bought interstate, but fill out this form and sent it to the lotteries commission and they will honour it.
Get letter back saying that they no longer do that as of 6 months ago and you can only claim the winnings from a NSW agency.

so Is Oz lotto really Oz lotto .... happy to take your hard earned anywhere in the country but not happy to pay out anywhere in the country it seems.

    Cheers Ean

no so Garry , you can buy Oz Lotto here and to my knowledge in every state or territory in the country , so why can't you claim your winnings in any state or territory that sells Oz Lotto tickets ??

Oh Ok - so if you buy a ticket in the local Newsagent in Darwin you cannot get your winnings locally - yep agree a rip off - local consumer affairs and the ACCC might take a complaint.

It’s all in the fine print or them referring you to the terms and conditions.......I’m no different to most and don’t read them.

We had a $5 win from when we travelled interstate....wasn’t worth the effort

I don' t know much about Lotto don't buy them but couldn't they just send the ticket to the person they were visiting in NSW & get them to clame the money then deposit it in your account.

OzLotto is operated by the individual state lottery commissions. I tried to collect a small dividend in Brisbane from a ticket bought in Sydney. Ending up sending it to my daughter in Sydney with instructions to drink the proceeds.

    NSW was privatised.

We have the individual state lotto cards, nsw, sa, vic, so when we travel and buy tickets we register them on the card then cheque gets sent out, I'm hoping it is still the same next year when we head off.
