Sitting at a traffic light controlled intersection, I saw a pedestrian walk up and push the button, to cross the road. He waited patiently for a good three seconds before punching the button. With no result after a further five seconds, he yelled at and punched the button again. It worked, the little green man came on and the world was peaceful again.
