Found: the Gospel according to Judas
For the Forum Mosh Pit:
I guess we have all heard the news by now?
If not, one source is:
http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/20...0406_judas.html
All that we were brought up on at Sunday school, all that has shaped our moral conduct is challenged... don't let the Politicians and Lawyers know.
Betrayal is OK..."Jesus made me do it"...it is now official.
It is profound when you think about it and the timing of its release coincidental :?

the concepts of it raises some interesting issues,.. and although I can see this now becoming highly published,.. I doubt it will be canonised,
many conflicting stories were written in those times, what is biblical and what is self glorification is a different issue.. How many times have people done something so terrible, that they need to justify it,
much in the same way chopper would clean up the Vic streets and then claim to be doing it for the Vic police, ( although that may have been the case) it does highlight a common human trait… Judas wasn’t much liked after what happened, and this book might have been his attempt at gaining public vindication,.. which possibly didn’t take off, guilt got to him, so he killed himself, a small following make a Gnostic suicide cult, and his writing is lost to time, until now,.. .
having said that, it is widely believed that Jesus did know he was going to be betrayed,
understanding the roll he was playing in the bigger picture he went on regardless,. And the very human betrayal happened parallel to many times b4. and after
Anyone ever seen that new Zealand hoax movie? The one where they claimed, nz invented flight? Interesting use of miss-information

I just find the reaction of the 'established' churches interesting. They say that they don't accept this story because it was written by a group they consider 'Heretics'. Christopher Columbus was also called a heretic when he claimed the world was round, not flat................. makes you think doesn't it

Just as an aside..... this story also leads you to believe that Jesus actually told Judas to 'sell him out' even though he knew this would lead to his death... he apparently wanted to 'shed his human body'.
Isn't this close to committing suicide?..... one of the major sins in the Christian church????
By the way, I'm not out to upset anyone or their beliefs/faith, but it does make you think doesn't it?

Yes it does ..shaken from our complacent self rightious judeo-christian core.
I would hope that there will be some new beginnings and a sustainable future.

When Adam and Eve sinned, (thoroughly decieved by Satan who appeared as a serpent), death and sin entered the world.
He was sent by his heavenly father for just this purpose, a ransom needed to be paid to purchase back what was lost, ( perfect lives lost by Adam and Eve).
Jesus sole purpose was to die for our sins and give us the hope of a future resurrection and regain eternal life.
There was never any doubt about Jesus purpose whilst on the earth.
I guess someone had to turn him over and Judas was that person.
No offence taken.
