Arthur Goddard, and son. Creating another legend in Brisbane.

Reading my copy of on the road magazine, an article about 'Cruisemaster ' suspension, in Brisbane caught my eye, with the statement that Cruisemaster started making suspension and trailer couplings in 1977 when Andrews grand father and father, Arthur and Chris, turned their engineering skills to the recreational vehicle market. They have become a leader in suspension technology World-wide. I googled Arthur, and I'm sure it is the Goddard of Land Rover fame. What a legend. Retired now, I hope he is still with us, he was 95 in 2016, I believe.

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Spoke to Chris at the Cooma event and Arthur is still with us. And reasonably well.

There was a book about Arthur, I think it was called, "They Found Our Engineer". I had a copy autographed by Arthur with the words, "I hope You enjoy Gracie as much as I enjoyed designing it"!!
It's a very special story how Arthur was discovered in Qld.
Apparently some guys from the Series 1 Club went into this caravan place looking for some stuff & happened to mention they owned Landrovers, and the person they were speaking to (Arthur's son, unbeknown to them at the time!) said words to the effect that his Dad designed them,.....and the story goes from there!

True story, great book, mine is signed by the author although I do have a 1:18 scale of HUE166 signed by Arthur at one of our club events.

Yes, He is a pretty funny guy with lots of stories to tell.
JLR (Solihull) didn't even know he was around, but when they found out, they got him back there, and He was absolutely treated like "Royalty", as He should be.
Several years ago I did make a suggestion to the LROC (Vic) about getting him down for an event/dinner etc, but He was a long way away, getting on in years etc, so it never happened. But, you guys in Qld are so lucky to "have" him. I'm told He still loves a beer?
Anyone who hasn't got the book, needs to get it, IMHO!
