We both forgot the 25 th , and the next two . A few others in the past, but I remind the good lady every day with me is an anniversary 🤣
I am lucky as we were married in Russia and we had two ceremonies, one in the church and one two days later in the "legal" civil office so if I forget one I can say I was going to remember the other one, that said, we both forgot a couple of times while travelling around in Russia so its all good
33 years and neither of us has forgotten. It was a pretty significant and special day of my life so how anyone could forget it escapes me.
Ours is two days after ANZAC day. This was due to my footy team playing on this day, which was a Thursday, freeing up the following Saturday to get married.
So Bruce Dawe was correct when he wrote in his poem "Life Cycle" about Victorians organising events like weddings around football matches.
One verse says:
And the tides of life will be the tides of the home-team’s fortunes
– the reckless proposal after the one-point win,
the wedding and honeymoon after the grand final …
