Are there any issues with the airbags and crash standards? Defenders would not match the standards for a Disco, I assume. Is that right?

Airbags ( and ABS ) were options on D1s. Quite common yes, but not all have them fitted.

How about crash standards? Can't imagine a Defender matching D1 crash protection.

    Hi Paul,

This is actually mine that Harry and I are building up. The plan is for a road registered toy Has anyone thought about putting a series/defender body on a disco chassis?.

If you look at the NCOP the code this will be built under is LH5 which is an unmodified chassis and drivetrain with a body from another vehicle added. The rules are that the chassis has to comply with its ADRs and the body has to comply with its.

I haven't posted anything about it yet since we are just about to have the first visit from the engineer to make sure it is going to be acceptable.

Once that is done and dusted I will post up some photos.

This is actually a 300tdi and the body is going to be an extend cab tray back ute, about 300mm added to a single cab defender.

Should be interesting Has anyone thought about putting a series/defender body on a disco chassis?.

    Cheers,

    Tim.
