    What happened here?

7 News Perth - Monday night at 6 on Seven News | Facebook

I'd say they were carrying full lpg gas bottle. BAM, there goes the truck.

This is why you have roof rack gas bottle holder, and never carry them inside the cabin!

Can't imagine what else they're going to say you need to check before moving house that explodes.....

Seriously though, people died in the making of this video....

It happened in Melbourne in 2015. Photos show several BBQ gas cylinders in the aftermath, yet the news report is saying acetylene.

Probably bumped the tap on an acetylene bottle causing a combustible mixture to build up in the back of the van. Anyone who's used oxy-acetylene knows how loud the blowback noise is when you shut it off wrong. The LPG cylinders were unlikely to explode.

Just a good example of sloppy cylinder handling going wrong.

Gas cylinder not fully closed and without a bung is slowly filling the rear of the truck with flammable gas, just a needs to get to a critical concentration plus a spark and then you get a big bang.

    Hi,
A gas fitter told me the story of a work room with a small fridge under the lab bench and a tempory gas bottle to run the various bunsen burners there. (The original coal gas lines were disconnected in the early 70s )
Over the Easter break a leaky gas fitting allowed gas to escape to the floor undisturbed as the air conditioning was switched off for the holiday.
    The fridge however, was not.
The gas at critical mixture must have been ignited from the fridge motor cycling and the explosion took the windows out and started a small fire.
    Cheers

A video showing why gas bottles should not be carried inside your vehicle

Only a small amount of gas makes a big bang,

The moment rental truck becomes a deadly gas cylinder bomb
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking
