It seems Sydney and Melbourne have both managed a good deal of weather chaos over the last few days without the help of a cyclone! At least in the area likely to be affected by Owen people are (or should be) prepared for this sort of weather.
Cyclone Owen has moved on to do it's thing elsewhere.
We didn't even get any rain except a couple of showers, it has cooled things down though.
So we wait for the next one, should be 3-5 in the Gulf going on history.
Hope Owen doesn't bugger up anybody's day!

In Toowoomba we have had next to nothing very humid ang sticky but only about 3mm of rain was hoping for a bucket load but not to be better luck next time maybe.
Certainly nowhere near the figures they have been predicting from Owen. From the BOM site it is nearly down my area and all we have had is a few sprinkles over the last couple of day. The biggest total was about 16mm. Nothing like the predicted totals of 200+ . It's a bit of a fizzer as far as rain goes.

Better be warned and disappointed than not warned and hammered, I think.
Nice steady drizzle overnight and continuing today here.
The lawn was brown and crackly when we got home from Sydney yesterday, so the rain is welcome.

...we've had 'nice soaking showers' all day so I went out into the garden with a small spade to see how far down the moisture had got.....surprised to see it had only penetrated about 30mm then it was dead dry.
