While we're being Pedantic "Uisce" is the Irish Gaelic for Water.
"Uisce Beatha" is Irish Gaelic for Water of life. ( pronounced Ishka baha )

While there is no argument from the Scots as they have their own Gaelic language ( and plenty other things to argue about) which is similar ( Usige Beatha ) but pronounced "Ishiky-ba", at least that's been my experience but at the time I may well have had too much, resulting in a few more Prime Scottish words eg:
Ooot ma Tree, Ooot the game, Mad wae it, Steamboated, pusshd, heevin etc..[tonguewink]

Off topic a bit, but my Glaswegian, Great Grandfather and his brother fought in the American Civil War, on the Union side.

Pickings don't look that slim... Never tried that Ballantines.

We have discovered Japanese whisky , Suntory Kakubin is great drinking and relatively cheap, Nikka Taketsuru is fantastic but a tad expensive and hard to get in Australia

Have tried a couple of Japanese Whiskeys…….been good so far

To the immense chagrin of the Scots, Japanese single malts are regarded as the best in the world. I'm not sure how that is judged. AFAIK Japan has no peat, so the Islay malts couldn't be reproduced ( wrong word ), nor could the Highlands. So I guess it's the Speysides they are compared with.

In any case, they'd need to bloody great to equal a 25yo The Macallan. Or Talisker. Since I quit drinking I do not miss alcohol, but nothing replaces the gorgeous warmth of a great whisky.

Yep, it’s been a bonus as we’re on the road and doing a bit of work along the way…..

Pretty heavy alcohol restrictions where we are at the moment plus when you’re allowed to buy spirits it’s just all the usuals on the shelf.

Mail order to the rescue.
