Cleaning Bird ****, Insects & Gum Tree Stained Water off Paint

    Hi All,

I have some stubborn marks on the paint of my Puma which wont come off. One is some bird sh*t that is staggering in ts tenacity which I want to remove. Vehicle has been cut/polished once and I'd rather not do again.

Is there anything I can use locally to remove the stains. The bug guts are all across the front of the bonnet and blank vents under the windscreen. The tree gubbins is on the bonnet and the bird tu*d is one streak down the back door.

I also have a full length Pioneer Rack (Rhino Rack) I need to remove at some stage to clean the roof. It's filthy but will need to wait a while.

    Cheers.

    Andrew

If bird poo has been allowed to sit for a while, especially in hot weather, it will eat into, and "etch" the paintwork, in which case you will not be able to remove the etching.
There are all sorts of "coatings" available today that are supposed to be bird poo proof,..but I'm skeptical.

A local lady told me some sodium bicarb in water will get Jacaranda sap off the paintwork

I'm a bit annoyed with myself with letting the mess sit there. I got 90% of the guff off but, my word, what do the birds eat in the Vic Highlands.

"What do the birds eat" has a lot to do with it, because what they eat has a lot to do with what is deposited on your paintwork,...in other words someone may work out a polish/protectant etc that would combat a certain type of bird poo, but then the bird might digest something else which would result in a totally different composition of bird poo against which that polish/protectant would be useless.Pickles.

Brand new razor blade on an almost flat angle against the paintwork will remove whatever is above the paint. If its etched into the paint . Boohoo.

Wouldn't it be great if birds learned to eat polish/protectant .... that way when they pooed on your car it helps to protect and polish it.

You could try a clay block , you can buy it from Supercheap ect. All our workers had over paint spray on the vehicles from the company across the road who were repainting there silos. It took all the over spray off. It is worth a try & not hard work like cut & polish.
