Thread: Could this really be safe?

    There is a guy up near my daughters house he has a Mazda 6 sitting on jack stands in his drive way that are around 1800mm high . I am not sure how he got it up there . I will see if I can get a photo next time I am up that way, it's been there over 12months .

    No problem at all with 1800 high jack stands as long as the base is wide enough and the stands are constructed properly.
    When they jack aircraft it's typically done on tripod jacks, and the rams have locking collars. Once raised, collars locked and pressure released they're effectively a large jack stand.
