I posted a rave about my eGo 56volt mower and chainsaw just after I got them mid last year. I've been using them for a while now so less starry-eyed but I have to still say they are both way better than I had hoped. I actually got my Husqvarna petrol chainsaw out last week and gave it a run for the first time since buying the battery one. Only reason I fired up the Husky was because I had misjudged the lie of the 18" eucalypt log from the tree I had just felled with the eGo saw and I had it pinched in the cut, the log was too heavy to move so I had to make another cut to free the saw. Did a little bit with the Husky while it was out but that'll be the last time until I have no choice again.
The only down side I have found with the battery saw is that if you overload it so it slows down, it cuts out and you have to back off the cut and switch on again; whereas a petrol saw might drop the revs a bit and keep going. Same with the mower, the protective circuitry cuts the motor dead if it starts to slow even slightly.
Never having to pull-start a mower or chainsaw is fantastic. Chainsawing without the need for earmuffs is a bonus.
