    Depending on the level of formality of the visit - response from the ship may be a simple "pipe the side" and a hello from the Captain, to bands and the appropriate level of guard and other attributes with the local Admiral and dignitaries in attendance.

    What that the GG visited HMAS CHOULES? - interesting but I am not sure it is funny.

    Actually I dont think the GG did visit CHOULES - the Governor of NSW did though for a citizenship ceremony. The wrong ex General.
