Be you Gay, Old or even a redhead you will always be the subject for mirth, It's just Human nature "Get over it" people.
I am not Gay (Not a carrot top either) But I am an old fart and I don't take offense at old people jokes, Life is too short for that sort of rubbish and most of the old fart jokes are rather funny anyway.
Humour is nearly always a case of someone taking the **** out of someone else and if PC takes the laughter out of the World it will be a very Sad affair indeed.

May be less impressive but still funny. People need to lighten up a bit and have some fun - life’s too short to be annoyed at others for something they say.

You must have heard the statement "there's no such thing as bad publicity. Top Gear and now The Grand Tour use this to great effect.
They are controversial to raise the profile of the show.

    From Wikipedia about Clarkson:-
His opinionated but humorous tongue-in-cheek writing and presenting style has often provoked a public reaction. His actions, both privately and as a Top Gear presenter have also sometimes resulted in criticism from the media, politicians, pressure groups and the public. He also has a significant public following, being credited as a major factor in the resurgence of Top Gear as one of the most popular shows on the BBC.

People who complain about the comments from the guys on Top Gear and The Grand Tour are like the people who watch Billy Connolly & Gordon Ramsey and complain about the swearing ! Journalists just stir the pot and bring their comments to the general public, funnily enough to get publicity for themselves or their employer.

Top Gear used to be a straightforward car show, I think they termed it originally as a 'magazine on TV'. Clarkson caused a few problems with his comments and the show re-surfaced in the popular format most of you know.
I remember when he stated that the Ford Granada Scorpio looked like a 'wide mouthed frog', Ford wanted him to go back on air & retract the statement. Controversy gets publicity.....

Personally I find the format of Top Gear and The Grand Tour a bit tired, some of it is interesting, some of it 'same old', the challenges all 'set-up' (we all knew this but originally it was actually funny).
I wouldn't go out of my way to watch The Grand Tour but if I was channel hopping and it was on I might watch it.

Gawd, imagine if this poor, precious Will Young person owned a Landy? How would he cope with all the mainstream criticism and jokes about his vehicle. Imagine the tears!

Hmmm, now I think about it, he does show a lot of prerequisites for modern day Defender ownership.

Well I guess I can’t really expect a more intelligent and compassionate discussion on a car forum!

Back to the Landies it is then.

I once had an editor who would deliberately write the most outrageous columns possible to get a reaction. He had a checklist of groups he wanted to offend and would tick them off as he added sentences to annoy each group. His columns were hilariously stupid, all done deliberately, but the more angry letters he got in response the happier he was.
    Clarkson follows the same strategy.

Just because we are NOT all Radical PC activists doesn't make us Stupid or lack compassion, On the contrary I believe It is the PC crew that lack compassion by their forcing their opinions on others instead of having a live and let live approach and as far as being Dumb goes we are not the ones that get all bent out of shape over a little bit of "Innuendo"
