This time last year I was worrying that the oats crop I was planning to plant in February may get waterlogged and die due to the predicted much wetter than usual autumn. That worked out well too..........

This thread reminded me of something, and I couldn't quite put my finger on it. But then, I remembered

Two years ago,the experts said rain was coming and the moisture content in the soil was Ok,so we should plant the 4000 acres of wheat.
So we decided it was too risky.
In the two years since then we have had less than 240mm of rain,long term average is just over 400mm per year.
This year so far there has been 61mm[bigsad]
