    North Queensland floods.

Has anyone here been affected? If you have, is there any way we AULROians can help?

The forum will be running a fundraiser for those impacted, with a priority given to AULRO members, if we have any in need of assistance. If there are no subscribers needing help, monies raised will be handed to the Sally Army for flood victims .

Bazzle, are you OK? Who else is up there?

A new thread will be started to administer the fundraiser.

FYI Power wise as of yesterday.

    - Modelling indicates about 2000 pillar boxs, 100 padmount transformers (that supply the LV network) and 50 HV ring/ switching main units (that supply the HV underground network) have been inundated. Each of these assets need to be individually inspected, clean out the water, mud and silt, and then make any repairs.

Thanks Steve, I was thinking that internet access could be an issue up there. I was wondering if Baz could be "our man on the spot", if he had connection .

Can we get behind this. please? You can win over $100 of fuel for as little as $1.00.

MIL & BIL are up there , both affected.

The services being offered are fantastic, trucks with freshwater pumps and a team of guys are moving through suburbs just offering their services...almost to much too soon but the responses are awesome.

Electricians doing continuity checks on houses and fridges/washing machines etc allowing people to move back into their homes. Tradies offering help everywhere.

I offered my services with my wife but was told basically not to bother as their is so much happening.

UP AUSTRALIA.....this is how we do it.

I have heard the same thing, thru mates up there. Doesn't mean some may not need more help, but it shows the heart of North Queenslanders.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking
