Energy security, and our National fuel reserve

    The International standard for fuel reserves is 90 days. Australia's fuel reserves are ;

    Automotive gasoline...…….19 days

    Jet fuel...………………………….23 days

    Diesel...…………………………….22 days.

I can't post the whole article, would possibly be against AULRO's rule against political comment, but surely this should change.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

    Bloody hell! Is that all?

Maybe the Govt. can't afford to stock more due to the price structure. Ironic? Sure is.

One assumes the Defence Forces are better off but then D^D won't allow us mere mortals to dip into their stocks?

Just the opposite. In a time of National emergency, fuel would be allocated on a priority basis. mere mortals are at the bottom of the pile.

Thanks. It may also open Pandora's box. Best for me to stay away.

Hydrogen fuel breakthrough in Queensland could fire up massive new export market

Hydrogen fuel breakthrough in Queensland could fire up massive new export market - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

Fixes the fuel reserves issue possibly

I've already posted it in Current Affairs.
Closure of our refineries meant we stored less fuel. There is now a proposal to create a national fuel storage. Sounds very sensible to me.
We also better be nice to the Indonesian refineries.

That is a Eureka moment. All I can say is WOW!, we are sitting on the edge of the future, potentially. Of course, only natural it came from a progressive State, like QLD.

Certainly very impressive. A great export opportunity.
Question is whether it will get the government regulatory support to make it happen. After all, Qld and WA are the only states which have gotten behind LNG exports in a major way. Will governments get behind hydrogen?
