    AAAAHHHHHH ........... computer help please !

    I need to borrow an AMD 64 Athlon 3000 socket 754 cpu for about 5 mins so i can update the bios on my new mb so it will recognise my AMD Sempron cpu, in Melbourne.

    Its an Albatron, i have emailed their support guy and he told me that i needed to load the latest bios which supports my cpu, but its a catch 22 - i need a suitable cpu so that i can flash the bios to suit my new cpu . Bios chip is soldered to board otherwise i could get it re programmed.

    as long as the system fires up you should be able to flash it,,, :?

    on a lot of NEW boards theres a backup bios,,,

    I have tried, cant access the floppy drive system starts but goes no further than the first test screen.
