Yep people have been looting, lots of police in area around Nar Nar Goon and Princes hwy was closed off until Tuesday morning. I'm going back up to drive Thermal Imaging camera crew through the area looking for hotspots.

I understand the anger from the individual who lost his house but CFA are tasked and safety of crew is paramount. Everyone is in it CFA, MFB, VICPOL, SES, Coast Guard etc. The people doing catering, coffee etc are life savers and many people have donated food and drinks for the firefighters. Good mob out there.

Drove around blacking out and checking in on homes yesterday. Quite a lot of places robbed, lots of animals hurt. Most people back on their properties that were missed by the fires. Plenty of peat fires and ground heat. Stuns me that people can be as low as that to rob people's homes that have been fled under the worse circumstances.

Met lots of people working together to clear trees and get fences back up.
Some serious resilience there.

The looters need to be shot.
Huge smoke cloud drifted into Warrandyte on Saturday where my parents live, couldn't see more than 20m it was that thick.
I was listening for fire sirens just in case.

First clear day here since the fires, we were just out with the binoculars scanning our view. Very extensive burnt area. There are still some active smoke columns north of Tonimbuk / Labertouche.
I'm also something of a traditionalist when it comes to looters. Shooting is the time-honored way of dealing with it.

Looters. It would be interesting to see what part of society they came from. If anything is un-Australian, that is it. You have to ask, where were the Police, monitoring access roads, checking ID ?

I know on the night of the 4th Monday, Police had the hwy and in roads blocked off, some by road signage traffic control people, others by police. Some tanker crews fed the info on around suspect cars. I know some have been caught.
Yep, I'm all for the un-PC method of shooting looters.

Yes, the Police can't be everywhere. Such a shame, to see this going on.
