OK folks, someone on ExplorOz is thinking about buying a 2000 disco V8 and is asking about ( I think ) fuel consumption.
Any figures for on and off road, folks. :?:

G'day Drivesafe,
Really depends on how you drive them...
I tend to be a bit heavy on the right foot.. BUT around Melbourne - constant short trips I get 19 - 20 ltr/100km.
They run really rich when first started ... so if doing a lot of short city work the economy is pretty scary.
I always tell people that ask that it is AMAZING!!.....
.........Amazing how much fuel they can burn![]()

On the highway that drops to 16 if I sit around the 110Km.. but if I sit around 90km/hr I can get that down to low 15's... best I have EVER got was 14.5
Pulling the camper trailer off road ( It weighs around 1 tonne loaded) I sit around 20 Lt/100k.
Hope that helps.

in the lean green disco machine
its my ultra-conservative (move yur fat arse!) driving style---
a lot of that was on auto pilot( 8O 8) )
though I find cruise control "pulses" continually--
so I think a steady foot may do even better,,

Ahh!... yes... my best figure of 14.5 was about 95% cruise control too....
Still pretty good effort..
I must buy a lighter right bootops:

I know this depends on your style of driving, but how mant litres to a tank and what would be the average distance from a tank?
1/city
2/hiway
The price of deisel has me think of a change
G'day NOZ...
I know deieel is more per litre...
but...
My tank is 95 Litres... I usually fill at about 80 - 85 litres.
Around town that gets me 450km..ops:
Highway ..550 - 600 if I am a good boy..;-(
Strangely.. the 4.6 in the P38a Rangie seems more ecopnomical than the 4.0
But I assume you get a much better range than that for your diesel $$

Well 85lt's will get me 680km's to 770km's depending on variables and close to 1000km's on a hiway run with no camper.
yeh... that's what I figured...
Maybe I should have listened to the guys that said buy diesel....ops:
BUT... I do like my V8 disco... even if it is an addiction that is getting more expensive...
