.... and a new wheel is required.
    Mahn, what kind of wheel?

I have one brand spanker steel Disco rim (white) but it does have a brand spanking new tyre fitted. I want to sell both.

Wheel nuts can also be loosened by others, damn near lost a wheel off the X1/9. The car felt a bit odd and when I pulled over (on the Cahill over Circular Quay, one rear left bolt had gone and every other was loose....)

A few weeks ago, some genius pinched the nuts from my boat trailer while it was parked (and locked to the Disco) at a local ramp. I rang my wife who followed instructions perfectly and located more in my very congested garage and eventually delivered such, with a grimace. Top day for fishing, nuts!!!

Yr a very lucky man it didn't come off at 100K's!!!!

Had you done work on it recently?

Needless to say I used my breaker bar today and will do so everytime from here on end.
Breaker bar fine to use but don't exceed 90flb. Small factory nut tightning bar designed so you can't exceed 90lb.

I have broken 3 studs over a period from using my breaker bar far too tight & when checked were around 120lb & over a period eventually snapped off after 4x4 trips.

I now check regularly with tension wrench insted of overtight with bar to be sure.

    Cheers

You're telling me...the wheel had the valve and stem replaced a month or two back and I trusted that tyre place had done the job properly. Needless to say I used my breaker bar today and will do so everytime from here on end.
Give the tyre place a ring, speak to the manager and give him a serve. Remind him that someone (you or someone in another vehicle) could easily have been killed had the wheel seperated. Remind him that would have meant a big lawsuit. Get in his face. You might get a refund on the job they did for you or some other minor form of compensation. At the very least you'll probably feel better for it.
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".
