100%, they found they had a problem with older models and self reported it and are going to fix it, good form imo.
They will go to dealers get a tweak of software and off they go.
For new models they have fixed it and are pretty much the lowest emitting diesels out.

    Australia

Speaking with CarAdvice, JLR's local arm confirmed there are 1731 units affected in Australia – 958 Land Rovers and 773 Jaguars.

"Jaguar Land Rover is conducting a voluntary recall following the identification of CO2 performance variability with certain 2016-2019 MY Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles fitted with 2.0L diesel or petrol engines," said James Scrimshaw, PR manager for JLR Australia.

"The modifications made to affected vehicles will be made free of charge and every effort will be made to minimise inconvenience to the customer during the short time required for the work to be carried out."

Nobody in particular, just that there seems to be a hell of a lot of Ompaloskepsis on this subject by many people so far, but as no-one could possibly tell if there will be or won't be a new Deafener (except LR) it could all be a red herring on the part of Land Rover to test the market & get some public opinion. Cammoed images? Could be anything, as many have said.

Who can say, & would you want to bet your superannuation/house/boat on it?

    Cynical? Moi? Not 'arf.

Dont worry mate, he's prob not talking about you as you dont drive a LR from memory.

I think the usual suspects are trying to troll the people that go to all the effort to post up news of the new Defender for some weird reason. Tad sad really if they are older than 10. Maybe they are a little bit intimidated by how potentially capable, versatile and durable so far its turning out to be and it may also be going against the grain that a naughty new modern 4x4 could possibly tick so many boxes that they shouldn't be able to. #fakenews #maybeallwillberevealedapril1 #itsallaconspiricy The never ending story. Well, you have to admit there has been one hell of a lot of Ifs, Buts & Maybes on this subject & no-one is any the wiser. You know what is under all that cammo do you blackie?

I don't think so. You know it & I know it.

    Lets just wait.

Navel Gazing, big word and impressive. The never ending story. LR Recall.
As much as i'd love to share your opinion, i would need you to point us to the specific posts where anyone has posted anything even remotely worthy of such offensive comments especially considering all the effort involved in that thread.

JLR are not going to tease the release of a car as a red herring? Thats what concept cars are for (DC100) An April fools joke is 1 thing(imo they will do something then), but corporate lying on the record is highly improbable and almost inconceivable to the extent you are inferring.
They are on record that the new defender is being released this year, again on record that they will be available for sale 2020, and that the extremely well camo'd cars we see are pilot builds.
The long term success of the company rides on the success of the new defender, its not something they are going to be playing around with.
Maybe read through all the links put up on the won't be retro thread again, there is no evidence to suggest JLR are uming and arring regarding the new defender, infact quite the opposite, they are on record as saying they are testing them all over the world in various extremes of weather.
