I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food
A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

As long as people are preparing. I was on an Attack class patrol boat back in the 80's, alongside Dampier, when we were ordered to proceed to sea, one cyclone coming down the coast, another out in the Indian ocean. Category 2, from memory. 146 tonnes, 32.76 metres long , we encountered 15 metre swells, all we could do was go with it, using the engines to prevent broaching. Interesting experience, but best to be in control of your own destiny , rather than at the mercy of the storm, close to shore. Your son's ship will be in her element, He'll be back at work before he knows it.

Yes, some of these don't sound too good. Glad I wasn't there.

Trevor is about 120k West of us & I'm glad we are not under the main part of him.
It has been raining here all day & most of last night, gusty strong wind but nothing that will do damage here.
This is the first decent rain we have had this "Wet". The river has been dry except for a couple of holes the town draws it's water from & they were low. There has been nothing in the weir for months.
I am hoping it is belting down on the Barkly Tableland & China Wall because that's where the mighty Nicholson gets most of it's water from & we really need it.
SWMBO & I drove up to Burketown for lunch yesterday & the country really need some rain, it will be inconvenient in that roads will close but the rain is wonderful. Not to mention it has cooled things down to "It's hot" instead of "I'm Dying!"
My assistant manager is due for leave on the 15th, she is in a panic she won't be able to drive out. She is not amused with my laughing about it.

We had been wondering how it was for you & yours in Domadgee - thanks for the update - we trust it continues its way away from you.
Forecast track I note is generally southerly onto parts of the Barkley - hopefully the Nicholson gets some![]()
A handful of people stayed put.
