Swopping caravan for camper.
Hi all. The cook and I came to a decision recently that to enable us to go to more out of the way places with the LROCWA we would sell the van and buy a decent camper trailer.
Now this has been what I've wanted to do for sometime but the cook has always resisted in the past ............. don't ask me why she changed her mind cos I don't know!
Who knows how their minds work.
Anyway, I advertised it in the Sunday Times for what I reckon was a good price of about what we paid for it 4 years or so ago. No doubt you've all seen the ads. where they say "first to see will buy" well this bloke did, couldn't wait to give us a deposit and on the Monday was right there with a bank cheque!
I'd done a bit of research like ringing the dealer for Windsor vans, looked at other ads. etc. before putting it in but from what the buyer told me I could have asked for an extra couple of grand and he would have paid it willingly!
Such is life I suppose but on reflection I'd rather have the money in the bank than a fancy price in an advert.
Now what type of camper to buy that's the question. We've got well over 20 grand to spend and I fancy an Argyle made by Pioneer Campers
(pioneercampers.com ) here in Perth. They're as strong as and look good as well.
Heard good reports about them and wonder if forum members have anything to say which may influence what I do.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Alan.
