Could be the end of the yabby feed while in the bush

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Yeah, the dams at the in-laws (other side of the Country) are almost dry too and the yabbie count is waaay down. Used to always get a good feed out of the dams every time I was there. Driest I’ve ever it there. They has a dust storm recently which moved tonnes of dirt from next door into their property - and moved tonnes of theirs to the next property along. There are mini sand dunes building up against fences and outbuildings. 🙁

Did a fish job down near Sale a couple of weeks ago and saw paddocks that had lost their topsoil.

It was half a metre deep on some roadsides. Gotta get round to posting pics.

Yep, the in-laws are between Sale and Seapray - it’s like a desert in places and it’s usually the Victorian equivalent to ‘Footrot Flats’.

The property we go to, which is not far from Dirranbandi has 13 out of 13 dams dry,i have never seen it like that.

The roos are dying everywhere, feeding the Merinos, the Dorpers are still hanging in,just. All the old and weak ones have perished.

The only water is from the bores that feed a few troughs.

Quite a few pigs around, they are feeding off the carcases and drinking at the troughs.

They recon it is worse than the '65 drought, and that was the worse one anyone can remember.

I do remember a drought in the late '70's,the sheep were feeding from drums of molasses,in those days, but some dams had water.

Not good, the property actually hasn't had good summer rain for 5 yrs.

One area,4000 acres, is for wheat, there hasn't been a crop for 4 yrs,and i don't think there will be any planting this year, even if there are a few winter storms, which are common in the area.

Bad news all round. I have a bad feeling about this. I know drought is part of our country life, but how bad does it get before it gets better.
