15 years ago at least 60% of jobs done were cash
I’d be lucky to get 1% cash these days
And cash jobs still go through the books
It’s easier to send an invoice by email or the old slow mail and customers transfer the amount owed
I still have the occasional cheque sent by the older generation
I've always liked cash, especially the $50 note. I have to say though, at the moment with this corona thingy, it's getting harder and harder to source the relevant plastic, watermark and ink material for a decent reproduction.

John, I just had a chat with our our Show Society treasurer and the Society requires two signatures on payments and do it online regularly. If your club has it's own a/c, then having two signatories is not an issue, with nothing personal involved.Quote:

Yes, the club has its own account. Odd that Commbank said it can't be done. I tried paying an account using internet banking using my login details. That was fine but I couldn't proceed without a second signatory. I could give that signatory my customer no. and password as I no longer have a Commbank account and haven't had one for years but the bank kept my details. I found that out when I became treasurer, the bank had my details from 20 years ago.Quote:

There's probably a perfectly innocent reason for him carrying the cash. It may have been payday, his missus sent him to the shops for milk, bread and bum fodder or he just found it and was on the way to the cop shop to hand it in.Quote:
