[QUOTE=ramblingboy42;3169004]Where did the saying "the four corners of the earth" come from?........./QUOTE]

It comes from the Bible, although as I understand it, the word translated as corners can also mean wings, extremities, borders or ends. Don't worry the Bile authors did not think the earth was flat, as it also mentions "the circle of the earth".

My favourite flat earth theory is that it is flat but surrounded by an ice wall, as if you proceed even just one degree away from the equator you will eventually end up at one of the poles.

What ever happened to fall over the Edge?

Minds eye. I wonder if some clown has ever designed a new airport with the edge of the world/Runway finishing half way along?

First officer. "**** me Skip, that has to be the shortest Take Off run in history for an A380. Altitude, Minus 90,000 ' & falling".

I could Fact Check that "Lolly Dispenser" thought but I might be wasting our time Des

Why do our brains believe lies even when we’ve been told the truth?

Many of the decisions we make as individuals and as a society depend on accurate information; however, our psychological biases and predispositions make us vulnerable to falsehoods.

As a result, misinformation is more likely to be believed, remembered and later recalled – even after we learn that it was false.

The 'Flat Earthers' and 'vaccine hesitant' must be rejoicing as perhaps my view the world is round or a bit safer is my bias

Basically because in many cases humans make the decision, then look for reasons to have made it.

We (and I do not exclude myself) see the world as we want it to be or as we fear it is (depending on how we feel), and rarely make decisions based on how it really is according to the best data.

In my mind's eye I had a vision of one of those Kids Pedestal Dispensers one sees cluttering up the door ways of Delis & other joints.

See it would have been a time wasting exercise after all. Good judgment.

And some people won't search for the root cause of a problem, in order to solve it, because the original root cause creation is inconveniently inconsistent with their 'narrative'.
