The Kiwis have floating boat trailers. Roll boat and trailer into the sea, anchor trailer, reverse boat out, go fishing. When finished drive boat back into trailer, tie it down , then motor back to the beach, where it all gets pulled out up the beach on a rope. I've seen it done and it's a nifty trick.

Sun Dive at Byron Bay do this a number of times every day with several boats.

I tried to find some footage but got bogged down hehehe.

    Someone may have some.

I like watching some of the clowns at the local marina launching and retrieving. Great fun. One bloke with much shouting and bulldusting with equally loud partner undid the straps on his nice fairly new boat, roared back and jammed the brake on to shoot it off the back into the water. And shoot it off he certainly did...straight onto the concrete! Bang crash. Lovely stuff.
Not so much big mouthing but very red faces as they struggled to put it back on the trailer and disappear from all the cameras.
Seen quite a few cars launched there as well.

I was at King Ash Bay for a few months last year and one of my favorite passtimes was to grab a 6 pack and watch the fools at the boat ramp
I will be heading off to the mouth of the Fortescue river in a week or so and it is a gravel/stone bush boat ramp there so it should provide some entertainment for me

How about a boat which takes itself out of the wet stuff and onto dry land, and maybe even onto the trailer ?

But if you're stuck on the "boat" format, then this may be the best of both worlds for exploring the coast...

Rather neat. I like the way the wheels fold up. That would be so nice to launch that next to bozos having probs launching their boats :-)
But it does seem have quite a bit of wake compared to a normal boat so it will cause more damage to the shore and take a bit more fuel.

That thing would be as useful as tits on a bull in any sort of a sea
