Nah, DM, I'm older than you (not by much, from your info) but would've ended up in the loony bin if I had kept working with/appeasing the clients the company was dealing with.

Ian, no handouts for this little black duck. One of the benefits apparently, of having a younger bride.

Gawd, 66 and still in the workforce. I can't imagine still working into old age. I never intended to work (for salary) past 55 but stuck it out until 56 waiting to see if The Runt chucked redundancy packages around like his govt. did at the CES and DVA. Best thing you can do with your life is to retire whilst you still have good health and as soon as you can afford to.

    Funny you should say that.
I was supposed to “semi retire” at 45, we’ll, that was the original plan. That decision or plan came about when I was 16 after talking with a couple of “old men”, (probably about 60 -70) at the then named Ayres Rock. I asked them if they were going to climb it, but none of them could,, too old and decrepit from working hard all their lives. Discussions ensued, and, during the bus trip home to Melbourne I decided I’d start my explorations from about 45,,, one should be still fit enough to do most stuff 😏
Two divorces later,, I’m over ten years behind 😳 😒 😤

Long service leave? I haven't had a pay rise since I've been here.
