• Last Tue 30/07 fronted at BNE Airport, QF checkin said, cancel your trip , volcanic activity, flights may be cancelled.
  
  • Nah says the expert, stopped erupting a month ago.
  
  
• Tue, flight cancelled, overnight in Port Moresby, for unknown unrelated reasons.
• Wed a.m fly to Kimbe, drive to Bialla that a.m, roads are wet but no rain.
  
  • Bearing in mind its the 'dry' season, the heavens open, and the road is cut in three places.
  
  
• Thursday workplace fatality
• Saturday, Volcano starts to kick up,
  
  • We decide to evacuate 6,000 people , no input from Govt, completed by 1330 , 1700 Volcano lets loose (Mt Ulawan) , second time in a month.
  
  
• Volcano now calm, road should reopen tonight.
• But how did QF know 5 days early

Possibly QF have someone in PM who has a friend interested in vulcanology, and has government or university contacts?
