    We were amused, the Queen's private joke on a group of tourists.

    Still has the common touch.


    Is one amused? Queen cracks joke when unwitting American tourists fail to recognise her on Balmoral estate
    I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

    A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

    The story Bob linked only happened the other day - she wasn't 93 20 years ago.

    Was on the radio and TV too, I thought it was great. I love Lizzy.

    You must have missed this line : "Although it was not a recent encounter, the Queen does often enjoy a more low-key lifestyle when staying at Balmoral."

    Yep, that's pretty much how the media works. One outlet runs a lazy article on something that happened decades ago, the other outlets apply their usual degree of due diligence and we have a worldwide story. I think I may have actually heard this one in the 1980s.
    I also have an enormous respect and admiration for Her Majesty. The media- not so much.
