Has anyone had experience with the Bushranger air compressor
I have to get one for the D3 and I wonder how they compare with the ARB

    Hi Richard,

I've had the Bushranger Max-Air for about 3 years now ... it's a top unit. They regularly win the comparos in the 4WD magazines .. and their specs are the same as the $600 models. Well worth the investment ..

I don't have one, i have the ARB one, there OK but i don't think i'd buy another one, i'm searching for a new compressor too, haven't decided on one but the Bushranger Max Air copy at Supercrap look good price wise, i have been told they work as well as the genuine one.

I've got an ARB compressor with the small tank for my air lockers on the Disco. It's been OK (9 years old now) but had to replace the sensor switch on it a few years ago. It is not real fast re-inflating the tyres.

I just bought a new one for my Defender from TJM called an OX. It's the basic industrial strength model with no air tank and is supposed to be much faster at inflating than the ARB. Haven't installed it yet so can't report good or bad.

I would seriously look at ebay.
I bought a great unit for around $86.00. I saw the same identical unit in a 4x4 shop and then at a field day for $329.00- $369.00.
If you look closely, most are made in China and they would have to be identical internally, some retailers claim they are made to thier specifications bit I think this is crap. They just give them a fancy name and a sticker.

I use the Bushranger Max Air. Have had it for over a year now. Works quickly and reliably.

Inflates 6 tyres easily from 18psi up to road driving pressure in less than 2 minutes per tyre.

Would recommend it. Current Prices are around $370 to $399 in most 4WD stores around here.

Picked mine up at the Caravan and Camping Show in Brisbane last June for $215. Look out for these on special at 4WD shows or similar for a real bargain.
