A dusty afternoon
With a fire in the forest NW of here, I spent the morning ensuring my firefighter was ready to go - and the afternoon on the tractor cleaning up and widening firebreaks. Very, very, dusty! Some more to do tomorrow.
The fire was confined to the other side of the Mendooran Road, but seems to have got away a bit this afternoon, and there is a small patch shown on the rfs map now this side of the road. It is about 17km NW of here, and although we currently have light winds, Friday is promising stronger NW winds - and temperatures increasing until the change comes through on Friday - maximum today was 32C.
